PROGRAMS & SERVICES

ADULTS VALUE FORMATION PROGRAM (AVF)

Program History

Some parents of the children helped by the Ministry have recognized the positive changes in the attitudes and habits of the children and have experienced the benefits of those changes. Consequently, they have realised their own need for positive changes. In 1990, at their request, a program based on the unchanging Holy Scriptures, adapted to their level, was begun and now these men and women have become our agents of help in their communities.  In 2001, the first batch of volunteer teachers from the ranks of the Adult Value Formation students were trained and commissioned in the Hands to Street Kids program.

Program Clients

Adult  men and women from 22 years old and above coming from poor, depressed communities.

Services Provided

Integrated into the program are one or any combination of the following services:
  1. Value Formation Program –  includes instructions on character formation and value clarification, based on Biblical principles, geared towards them taking responsibility for their lives.  Individual counselling is also provided.
  2. Feeding Program – provides food to adults who participate in the Value Formation class in selected locations.
  3. Physical Well-being Program – provides basic goods like food, clothing, toiletries, and other necessities to adult clients and their families, as supplies allow.
The AVF program holds some special events during the year such as the Grand Adult Fellowship, usually held sometime June to August, and the Adult’s Christmas Party, where all the AVF students from the different areas gather at a certain location for fellowship (meet and eat together), a special program, and the Word of God.
